The Lost Farm

Courses

The Lost Farm, which is Barnbougle Dunes' sister course, is a wild untamed piece of dunes land that takes golfers on a lovely 20 hole ride. That's right, you read that correctly. There's 20 holes at The Lost Farms!  The course is not quite as dramatic as Barnbougle Dunes but what it lacks in drama it makes up for with thoughtfully laid out holes that present a variety of challenges and a ton of fun.

I don't feel like I have a well-rounded enough perspective on the course, after only one round, to pontificate about the nuances of the design. But what I do feel strongly about is sharing a few tidbits and some pretty awesome photos! Hope you enjoy.

The first hole eases you into the course with a wide open par 5. The tee shot is not the critical shot here, your approach will dictate how you fare with the opener.

The fourth hole at The Lost Farm has the potential to be one of the best par threes in the world. Hopefully you catch it on a day where the wind isn't whipping off of the water on the right.

The fourth hole is all world

There's an amazing story about a tee shot Adam Scott hit during a fun round at The Lost Farm. I suppose I could tell it to you. But I suppose I don't have to. Do yourself a favor. Book a trip to Barnbougle, book a caddie (ask for Bullet), and enjoy the absurdity of how good Adam Scott is at golf.

The sixth is a wonderful, long par 3 with a large, receptive green

The Lost Farm isn't short on great bunkering. See exhibit A and B below!

Hole 13 and 13a (remember what I said about 20 holes) are so sick!  13 is an artistic dogleg left par 4 that has a green that slowly blends into its feeding fairway. 13a is a chip shot of a par 3 but don't miss your spot otherwise you'll have a tough up and down.

There's plenty more that could and should be said about how great The Lost Farm is but I'll leave it up to you to find the story you want to tell. Hopefully you get the chance to take a trip way, way down under to enjoy this gem.
